My little girl is one year old today. She's a little on the grumpy side today as she is not only getting over a cold, but she is cutting another tooth (notice her finger in her mouth) as well as having had 4 shots yesterday. It took me about 30 pictures to get just one of her adorable smile. She just wants to be held and cuddled by Mommy. That's okay, because that's exactly where I want her.
Yesterday at her 1-year checkup she was 20 1/2 lbs and 29 1/2" tall. She's not walking yet, but she just started standing up ever so briefly by herself in the last couple of days. It's only a matter of time. She is quite the babbler and while we can't understand her, it doesn't keep her from trying. She does say a few words that we figured out. Blowing a raspberry means "cheese" which is her word for food in general, cheese being her favorite. She says "mama" and "daddy" (not da-da, daddy) of course. And "gah-oon-gah-oon" means "dog" or "cat". :)
We'll be having her cake and opening presents after dinner tonight, mostly because Mommy forgot to bake the cake until this afternoon. That's mostly because we took all 4 kids to see "Happy Feet" (which is SOOOO cute BTW) at 11 a.m. Oh, and just like the day she was born, it's snowing today.
Happy birthday sweetheart!
